Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Health Care, Materials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB), which rose 5.74% or 10.520 points to trade at 193.650 at the close. Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 1.82% or 9.090 points to end at 505.250 and Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) was up 0.87% or 0.880 points to 102.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which lost 19.98% or 3.260 points to trade at 13.400 in late trade. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) declined 3.84% or 0.690 points to end at 17.200 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) shed 3.51% or 1.070 points to 29.230.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 74 to 50 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.59% or 7.20 to $1205.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in April fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $49.73 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract fell 4.31% or 2.69 to trade at $59.88 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.42% to 15.0116, while EUR/MXN rose 0.26% to 16.7822.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 95.52.
