Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Materials, Consumer Staples and Telecommunication Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which rose 2.55% or 0.780 points to trade at 31.500 at the close. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEXV) added 2.54% or 0.920 points to end at 37.350 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 2.45% or 0.530 points to 22.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB), which lost 2.73% or 1.810 points to trade at 64.520 in late trade. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 2.35% or 1.090 points to end at 45.220 and Compartamos, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GENTERA) shed 2.15% or 0.640 points to 29.260.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 82 to 64 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.59% or 7.10 to $1204.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in April rose 3.64% or 1.79 to hit $51.08 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract rose 5.56% or 3.26 to trade at $61.92 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.11% to 14.9331, while EUR/MXN rose 0.32% to 16.9660.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 94.24.
