Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Financial Services and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 1.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which rose 4.86% or 2.470 points to trade at 53.250 at the close. America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) added 4.30% or 0.610 points to end at 14.790 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB) was up 4.02% or 7.76 points to 200.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which lost 5.06% or 33.60 points to trade at 630.00 in late trade. VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) declined 2.07% or 0.53 points to end at 25.13 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) shed 1.87% or 0.64 points to 33.53.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 158 to 121 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.17% or 2.11 to $1254.91 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.15% or 1.06 to hit $50.41 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.23% or 1.17 to trade at $53.68 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.77% to 18.6923, while EUR/MXN rose 0.14% to 20.9466.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.78% at 97.01.
