Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which rose 3.97% or 1.220 points to trade at 31.950 at the close. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) added 3.81% or 1.300 points to end at 35.400 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) was up 3.24% or 3.61 points to 115.19 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which lost 1.75% or 10.62 points to trade at 594.99 in late trade. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) declined 1.63% or 7.47 points to end at 450.64 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) shed 1.38% or 0.780 points to 55.700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 191 to 74 and 12 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.95% or 12.24 to $1276.86 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.81% or 0.40 to hit $49.22 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.67% or 0.35 to trade at $52.09 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.42% to 18.7317, while EUR/MXN rose 0.86% to 20.3528.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.75% at 98.91.
