Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.80% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 7.62% or 1.550 points to trade at 21.880 at the close. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) added 3.02% or 0.660 points to end at 22.550 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was up 2.91% or 0.490 points to 17.340 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which lost 2.87% or 1.04 points to trade at 35.15 in late trade. Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) declined 2.28% or 2.62 points to end at 112.51 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) shed 1.83% or 0.36 points to 19.32.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 242 to 66 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.01% or 12.88 to $1264.62 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.93% or 0.46 to hit $49.69 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.13% or 0.59 to trade at $52.72 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.79% to 18.8762, while EUR/MXN rose 1.40% to 20.6405.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 98.66.
