Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financial Services and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.73% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 5.42% or 1.030 points to trade at 20.130 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 2.84% or 7.520 points to end at 272.100 and America Movil L, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) was up 2.84% or 0.450 points to 16.280 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB), which lost 1.11% or 2.260 points to trade at 200.980 in late trade. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) declined 0.98% or 0.390 points to end at 39.520 and Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) shed 0.82% or 3.010 points to 361.010.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 93 to 39 and 3 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 2.09% or 24.60 to $1201.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.78% or 0.47 to hit $60.80 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.46% or 0.29 to trade at $64.17 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.70% to 15.3605, while EUR/MXN rose 0.98% to 17.4663.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 94.21.
