Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services, Healthcare and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.48% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA), which rose 2.40% or 4.100 points to trade at 174.920 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 2.00% or 0.350 points to end at 17.880 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was up 2.28% or 1.990 points to 89.330 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which lost 1.37% or 1.18 points to trade at 84.75 in late trade. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) declined 1.57% or 1.020 points to end at 64.300 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) shed 1.07% or 2.320 points to 214.650.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 65 and 2 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.20% or 2.40 to $1198.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.26% or 0.14 to hit $56.53 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.83% or 0.53 to trade at $63.84 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.62% to 15.1768, while EUR/MXN rose 0.11% to 16.3326.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.67% at 97.88.
