Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Materials, Financial Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA), which rose 3.55% or 1.120 points to trade at 32.640 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 2.73% or 3.020 points to end at 113.840 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was up 2.57% or 1.090 points to 43.570 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which lost 12.51% or 106.22 points to trade at 743.00 in late trade. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) declined 4.40% or 2.070 points to end at 45.000 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) shed 4.35% or 0.79 points to 17.36.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 125 to 91 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.19% or 2.35 to $1256.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.61% or 0.27 to hit $44.73 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.92% or 0.43 to trade at $47.35 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.68% to 17.9215, while EUR/MXN fell 0.19% to 20.0675.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 97.14.
