Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Consumer Staples and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 3.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 12.17% or 105.92 points to trade at 976.00 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 9.24% or 1.230 points to end at 14.540 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was up 7.55% or 1.290 points to 18.380 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which added 0.25% or 0.070 points to trade at 28.590 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) added 0.43% or 0.120 points to end at 28.050 and Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (MX:BBAJIOO) gained 0.45% or 0.190 points to 42.180.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 206 to 102 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.19% or 2.30 to $1233.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.59% or 0.37 to hit $62.77 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.13 to trade at $72.70 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.66% to 19.8796, while EUR/MXN fell 0.54% to 22.6770.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 96.13.
