Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Financial Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 1.78% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO), which rose 6.26% or 0.70 points to trade at 11.89 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) added 5.63% or 8.66 points to end at 162.38 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) was up 4.71% or 2.04 points to 45.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO), which lost 3.75% or 0.36 points to trade at 9.25 in late trade. Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) declined 1.85% or 3.42 points to end at 181.37 and GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC) shed 0.42% or 0.70 points to 167.22.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 116 to 107 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.43% or 10.25 to $2,378.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.22% or 0.99 to hit $82.40 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.82% or 0.69 to trade at $85.35 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.45% to 17.84, while EUR/MXN fell 0.27% to 19.32.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 104.70.
