Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 1.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB), which rose 6.05% or 0.99 points to trade at 17.35 at the close. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) added 5.00% or 2.08 points to end at 43.65 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:BIMBOA) was up 4.77% or 3.17 points to 69.69 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA), which lost 0.89% or 0.11 points to trade at 12.22 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) declined 0.75% or 0.09 points to end at 11.96 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:FEMSAUBD) shed 0.63% or 1.26 points to 198.88.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 125 to 119 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.66% or 15.30 to $2,344.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.37% or 1.09 to hit $80.81 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.39% or 1.17 to trade at $85.42 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.56% to 18.40, while EUR/MXN fell 0.65% to 19.76.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 104.89.
