Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Telecoms Services and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 1.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB), which rose 4.39% or 15.38 points to trade at 365.31 at the close. Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) added 4.27% or 1.84 points to end at 44.73 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) was up 3.37% or 1.43 points to 43.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA), which lost 2.22% or 0.23 points to trade at 10.07 in late trade. Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA) declined 2.11% or 0.49 points to end at 22.74 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA) shed 2.05% or 0.59 points to 28.33.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 169 to 65 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.50% or 12.30 to $2,432.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $72.96 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.14 to trade at $76.20 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.03% to 19.57, while EUR/MXN fell 0.04% to 21.40.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 102.69.
