Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which rose 2.67% or 0.810 points to trade at 31.170 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB) added 2.52% or 4.52 points to end at 184.21 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was up 2.51% or 1.150 points to 46.970 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL), which lost 2.34% or 2.85 points to trade at 118.77 in late trade. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) declined 2.11% or 0.550 points to end at 25.540 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) shed 1.76% or 3.20 points to 178.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 182 to 134 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.26% or 3.50 to $1353.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.55% or 0.36 to hit $65.52 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.33 to trade at $69.48 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.95% to 18.3417, while EUR/MXN fell 0.19% to 22.8382.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 88.63.
