Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO), which rose 2.96% or 1.30 points to trade at 45.27 at the close. Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) added 2.33% or 3.87 points to end at 168.94 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA) was up 1.68% or 0.17 points to 10.32 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO), which lost 2.57% or 1.13 points to trade at 42.78 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (BMV:ASURB) declined 2.47% or 12.95 points to end at 511.35 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) shed 1.88% or 2.89 points to 151.16.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 119 to 83 and 17 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.30% or 7.30 to $2,470.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.04% or 0.79 to hit $76.98 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.35% or 0.28 to trade at $79.44 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.13% to 18.84, while EUR/MXN fell 0.25% to 20.55.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 102.97.
