Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Materials, Industrials and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which rose 2.35% or 0.66 points to trade at 28.80 at the close. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) added 1.50% or 0.920 points to end at 62.130 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) was up 1.25% or 0.280 points to 22.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which lost 7.74% or 1.15 points to trade at 13.70 in late trade. Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) declined 1.89% or 4.28 points to end at 221.70 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) shed 1.35% or 0.600 points to 43.780.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 141 to 137 and 12 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.42% or 5.60 to $1332.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.52% or 0.31 to hit $58.98 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $62.55 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.01% to 18.6607, while EUR/MXN fell 0.02% to 23.0473.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 89.60.
