Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA), which rose 3.37% or 0.36 points to trade at 11.08 at the close. Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:PINFRA) added 2.20% or 3.90 points to end at 180.77 and Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) was up 1.89% or 3.12 points to 167.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO), which lost 4.26% or 0.33 points to trade at 7.42 in late trade. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1) declined 2.52% or 3.04 points to end at 117.62 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GMEXICOB) shed 1.63% or 1.75 points to 105.13.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 107 to 99 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.87% or 21.80 to $2,486.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.49% or 1.17 to hit $77.18 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $79.93 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.11% to 18.80, while EUR/MXN rose 0.03% to 20.71.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 102.43.
