Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 1.68% or 0.220 points to trade at 13.290 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 1.41% or 11.73 points to end at 843.00 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was up 1.33% or 1.720 points to 131.530 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which lost 1.86% or 1.040 points to trade at 54.820 in late trade. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) declined 1.74% or 1.63 points to end at 92.00 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) shed 1.71% or 2.41 points to 138.37.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 162 to 96 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.02% or 12.20 to $1186.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.80% or 0.57 to hit $72.14 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.59% or 0.48 to trade at $81.27 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.25% to 18.7954, while EUR/MXN fell 1.09% to 21.8867.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.76% at 94.59.
