Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Industrials and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 1.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which rose 1.88% or 1.460 points to trade at 80.900 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 4.37% or 9.590 points to end at 227.710 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) was up 2.73% or 0.690 points to 26.070 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB), which lost 1.24% or 0.380 points to trade at 30.150 in late trade. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) declined 1.20% or 0.86 points to end at 70.74 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) shed 1.03% or 0.990 points to 95.220.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 96 to 65 and 12 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 2.64% or 32.50 to $1263.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 6.00% or 2.18 to hit $38.52 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 3.95% or 1.53 to trade at $40.27 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.48% to 17.6242, while EUR/MXN fell 0.40% to 19.7874.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.01% at 95.68.
