Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Consumer Staples and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL), which rose 2.27% or 3.00 points to trade at 134.93 at the close. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 2.05% or 0.860 points to end at 42.860 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was up 1.92% or 0.940 points to 49.890 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which lost 10.84% or 2.290 points to trade at 18.840 in late trade. VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) declined 8.58% or 1.83 points to end at 19.50 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) shed 4.29% or 1.460 points to 32.590.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 137 to 100 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.78% or 10.03 to $1268.97 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.11% or 0.58 to hit $52.76 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.80% or 1.05 to trade at $59.49 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.78% to 19.1893, while EUR/MXN fell 0.58% to 22.3638.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.09% at 94.55.
