Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 2.58% or 0.720 points to trade at 28.650 at the close. Arca Continental, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) added 2.29% or 2.090 points to end at 93.390 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) was up 2.19% or 2.140 points to 100.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which lost 2.99% or 2.010 points to trade at 65.120 in late trade. Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 2.43% or 10.230 points to end at 408.820 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) shed 2.25% or 0.320 points to 13.960.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 72 to 54 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.01% or 0.10 to $1192.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.73% or 0.34 to hit $47.73 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.34% or 0.18 to trade at $55.35 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.01% to 14.9454, while EUR/MXN fell 0.01% to 16.3223.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 97.39.
