Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services, Health Care and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which rose 2.75% or 1.96 points to trade at 73.11 at the close. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 2.68% or 0.420 points to end at 16.040 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was up 1.71% or 1.090 points to 65.230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresas ICA, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which lost 3.22% or 0.440 points to trade at 13.160 in late trade. Mexichem, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) declined 1.76% or 0.770 points to end at 43.020 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) shed 1.57% or 1.580 points to 99.230.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 79 to 59 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.68% or 8.30 to $1229.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in March rose 2.60% or 1.33 to hit $52.54 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract rose 3.50% or 2.08 to trade at $61.35 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.22% to 14.8842, while EUR/MXN fell 0.33% to 16.9484.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 94.24.
