Investing.com – Malaysia equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Trade & Services and Property sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI rose 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were Sapurakencana Petroleum Bhd (KL:SKPE), which rose 2.50% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.46 at the close. RHB Capital Bhd (KL:RHBC) added 2.39% or 0.17 points to end at 7.28 and Tenaga Nasional Bhd (KL:TENA) was up 1.87% or 0.24 points to 13.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (KL:FGVH), which lost 2.29% or 0.04 points to trade at 1.71 in late trade. Hong Leong Bank Bhd (KL:HLBB) declined 2.03% or 0.28 points to end at 13.50 and DiGi.Com Bhd (KL:DSOM) shed 1.43% or 0.08 points to 5.51.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 367 to 180 and 49 ended unchanged on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.91% or 0.55 to $60.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.94% or 0.59 to hit $63.62 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.56% or 6.70 to trade at $1195.20 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was down 0.19% to 2.7982, while USD/MYR fell 0.22% to 3.7314.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 94.39.
