Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 2.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 2.14% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.1430 at the close. Montepio (LS:MPIO) fell 0.35% or 0.002 points to end at 0.562 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was down 0.55% or 0.0650 points to 11.7150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 10.78% or 0.0033 points to trade at 0.0273 in late trade. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) declined 2.64% or 0.1760 points to end at 6.5000 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 2.54% or 0.0450 points to 1.7300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 44 to 3 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.42% or 0.21 to $49.68 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.53% or 0.26 to hit $48.84 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.67% or 8.15 to trade at $1209.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.1171, while EUR/GBP rose 1.08% to 0.7754.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 95.52.
