Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 2.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 12.23% or 0.4270 points to trade at 3.9170 at the close. Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 1.84% or 0.30 points to end at 16.62 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) was up 0.88% or 0.33 points to 37.98 in late trade.
Biggest losers included FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK), which lost 5.47% or 0.53 points to trade at 9.20 in late trade. Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) declined 5.37% or 0.163 points to end at 2.870 and Mediaset (MI:MS) shed 5.28% or 0.175 points to 3.139.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 293 to 76 and 30 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.43% or 0.31 to $71.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $78.43 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1290.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1801, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8748.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 93.27.
