Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemicals, Travel & Leisure and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were A2A (MI:A2), which rose 3.29% or 0.046 points to trade at 1.444 at the close. Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 3.10% or 0.42 points to end at 13.97 and Italgas SpA (MI:IG) was up 1.76% or 0.077 points to 4.462 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI), which lost 3.45% or 0.144 points to trade at 4.034 in late trade. Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) declined 3.27% or 0.298 points to end at 8.810 and Exor NV (MI:EXOR) shed 2.75% or 1.68 points to 59.52.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 229 to 117 and 30 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.59% or 0.98 to $62.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.12% or 0.73 to hit $66.15 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1331.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.38% to 1.2330, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.8842.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 89.72.
