Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.70% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI), which rose 4.50% or 0.54 points to trade at 12.55 at the close. Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) added 2.30% or 0.85 points to end at 37.83 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was up 1.76% or 0.350 points to 20.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which lost 3.07% or 0.1190 points to trade at 3.7630 in late trade. Italgas SpA (MI:IG) declined 2.84% or 0.139 points to end at 4.757 and Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) shed 2.35% or 0.214 points to 8.876.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 192 to 171 and 30 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.13% or 0.81 to $71.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.74% or 0.59 to hit $79.21 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.14% or 14.70 to trade at $1304.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1730, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8764.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 93.69.
