Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF), which rose 4.46% or 0.450 points to trade at 10.530 at the close. Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) added 2.40% or 0.064 points to end at 2.730 and Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) was up 2.11% or 0.088 points to 4.262 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER), which lost 4.08% or 0.89 points to trade at 20.94 in late trade. Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI) declined 3.11% or 0.20 points to end at 6.39 and Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) shed 2.56% or 0.58 points to 22.04.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 285 to 88 and 14 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.57% or 0.32 to $55.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.43% or 0.27 to hit $61.94 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.39% or 5.05 to trade at $1277.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1793, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8960.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 93.79.
