Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Technology and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI), which rose 2.08% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.40 at the close. Tenaris SA (BIT:TENR) added 1.36% or 0.20 points to end at 14.56 and Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF) was up 1.31% or 0.30 points to 23.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Brunello Cucinelli (BIT:BCU), which lost 4.25% or 4.00 points to trade at 90.10 in late trade. Moncler SpA (BIT:MONC) declined 2.37% or 1.38 points to end at 56.90 and DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS) shed 1.87% or 1.89 points to 99.26.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 282 to 206 and 50 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.22% or 0.18 to $80.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.16% or 0.14 to hit $84.89 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.74% or 17.90 to trade at $2,438.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 103.86.
