Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Healthcare and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Generali (MI:BGN), which rose 2.63% or 0.60 points to trade at 23.44 at the close. UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI:US) added 2.39% or 0.046 points to end at 1.972 and Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) was up 1.33% or 0.0610 points to 4.6470 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC), which lost 4.58% or 0.35 points to trade at 7.25 in late trade. Atlantia (MI:ATL) declined 3.81% or 0.72 points to end at 18.18 and Italgas SpA (MI:IG) shed 2.82% or 0.137 points to 4.719.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 184 to 159 and 38 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 3.11% or 2.05 to $67.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.73% or 1.98 to hit $74.61 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 2.30 to trade at $1202.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1593, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8976.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 95.03.
