Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.36% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI), which rose 4.03% or 0.138 points to trade at 3.564 at the close. Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) added 3.85% or 0.1720 points to end at 4.6340 and UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI:US) was up 2.05% or 0.038 points to 1.912 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset SpA (MI:MS), which lost 5.74% or 0.159 points to trade at 2.609 in late trade. Atlantia (MI:ATL) declined 5.39% or 1.34 points to end at 23.54 and Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) shed 2.62% or 0.224 points to 8.320.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 191 to 152 and 33 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.16% or 0.11 to $67.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.23% or 0.17 to hit $72.78 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 3.40 to trade at $1202.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.1340, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8918.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 96.59.
