Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Chemicals and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF), which rose 3.63% or 0.74 points to trade at 21.10 at the close. Amplifon (BIT:AMPF) added 1.98% or 0.51 points to end at 26.33 and Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI) was up 1.65% or 0.03 points to 2.03 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG), which lost 2.67% or 0.24 points to trade at 8.75 in late trade. Pirelli & C SPA (BIT:PIRC) declined 2.43% or 0.13 points to end at 5.21 and Recordati (BIT:RECI) shed 2.27% or 1.16 points to 49.94.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 276 to 214 and 48 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.32% or 0.22 to $70.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.26% or 0.19 to hit $73.75 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.66% or 17.80 to trade at $2,672.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 101.26.
