Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Chemicals and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY), which rose 2.11% or 1.36 points to trade at 65.82 at the close. UniCredit SpA (BIT:CRDI) added 1.64% or 0.61 points to end at 37.87 and ERG (BIT:ERG) was up 1.25% or 0.30 points to 24.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nexi SpA (BIT:NEXII), which lost 3.11% or 0.19 points to trade at 6.04 in late trade. Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM) declined 1.50% or 0.21 points to end at 13.78 and Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI) shed 1.34% or 0.10 points to 7.23.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 244 to 217 and 49 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.08% or 1.49 to $70.07 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.61% or 1.20 to hit $73.27 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 4.05 to trade at $2,681.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 100.51.
