Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Utilities and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF), which rose 2.71% or 0.280 points to trade at 10.600 at the close. Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP) added 1.59% or 0.044 points to end at 2.812 and Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) was up 1.32% or 0.0090 points to 0.6915 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Italgas SpA (MI:IG), which lost 2.64% or 0.140 points to trade at 5.160 in late trade. STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) declined 2.62% or 0.550 points to end at 20.420 and Banca Mediolanum SpA (MI:BMED) shed 2.44% or 0.170 points to 6.800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 202 to 166 and 14 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.90% or 1.08 to $57.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.74% or 0.46 to hit $63.03 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.70% or 9.00 to trade at $1290.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1784, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8869.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 93.45.
