Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB added 0.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MILAN:EMII), which rose 2.82% or 0.230 points to trade at 8.385 at the close. Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER) added 2.66% or 0.74 points to end at 28.52 and Mediaset (MILAN:MS) was up 2.61% or 0.116 points to 4.558 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tenaris (MILAN:TENR), which lost 1.97% or 0.25 points to trade at 12.43 in late trade. Saipem (MILAN:SPMI) declined 1.56% or 0.16 points to end at 10.07 and Fondiaria - Sai (MILAN:US) shed 1.31% or 0.030 points to 2.266.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 235 to 233 and 7 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.01% or 0.61 to $59.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.86% or 0.55 to hit $62.95 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1172.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1199, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.7120.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 95.43.
