Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 2.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which rose 6.77% or 1.196 points to trade at 18.856 at the close. Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) added 5.97% or 0.0406 points to end at 0.7212 and Exor NV (MI:EXOR) was up 5.80% or 3.38 points to 61.62 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI), which lost 0.16% or 0.01 points to trade at 6.18 in late trade. Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) added 0.18% or 0.04 points to end at 22.14 and Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) gained 0.29% or 0.11 points to 37.72.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 296 to 71 and 25 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 2.11% or 1.34 to $62.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.45% or 0.97 to hit $65.89 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.68% or 9.00 to trade at $1320.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.78% to 1.2280, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8849.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.64% at 90.09.
