Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 1.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Recordati (MI:RECI), which rose 3.28% or 0.95 points to trade at 29.93 at the close. Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI) added 2.78% or 0.34 points to end at 12.58 and Italgas SpA (MI:IG) was up 2.68% or 0.119 points to 4.555 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tenaris (MI:TENR), which lost 1.15% or 0.17 points to trade at 14.16 in late trade. Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) declined 0.72% or 0.15 points to end at 20.82 and CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) shed 0.14% or 0.015 points to 10.850.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 214 to 124 and 33 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 2.11% or 1.32 to $61.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.95% or 1.28 to hit $64.51 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.79% or 10.60 to trade at $1324.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.2397, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8927.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 89.68.
