Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Travel & Leisure, Utilities and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 1.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 4.69% or 0.1560 points to trade at 3.4820 at the close. Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) added 2.98% or 0.295 points to end at 10.210 and CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) was up 2.81% or 0.310 points to 11.340 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset (MI:MS), which lost 2.38% or 0.078 points to trade at 3.206 in late trade. Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC) declined 0.91% or 0.07 points to end at 7.08 and Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) shed 0.71% or 0.018 points to 2.502.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 255 to 116 and 16 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.21% or 0.12 to $57.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.35% or 0.22 to hit $63.45 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.67% or 8.40 to trade at $1265.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.1804, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8812.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 93.09.
