Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Italgas SpA (MI:IG), which rose 2.37% or 0.108 points to trade at 4.658 at the close. Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) added 1.78% or 0.38 points to end at 21.73 and Poste Italiane SpA (MI:PST) was up 1.70% or 0.124 points to 7.420 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tenaris (MI:TENR), which lost 1.46% or 0.22 points to trade at 14.84 in late trade. Recordati (MI:RECI) declined 1.43% or 0.43 points to end at 29.66 and Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) shed 1.42% or 0.0118 points to 0.8202.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 193 to 152 and 31 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.58% or 0.98 to $61.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.33% or 0.87 to hit $64.62 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.37% or 4.90 to trade at $1319.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.2317, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.8867.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 90.00.
