Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF), which rose 3.06% or 0.76 points to trade at 25.62 at the close. Telecom Italia (BIT:TLIT) added 2.96% or 0.01 points to end at 0.25 and Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI) was up 2.57% or 0.06 points to 2.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS), which lost 0.91% or 0.95 points to trade at 103.00 in late trade. A2A SpA (BIT:A2) declined 0.87% or 0.02 points to end at 2.17 and Hera (BIT:HRA) shed 0.87% or 0.03 points to 3.42.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 279 to 236 and 52 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.98% or 1.36 to $69.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.51% or 1.09 to hit $73.28 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.40% or 37.99 to trade at $2,756.39 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 106.24.
