Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY), which rose 2.57% or 1.56 points to trade at 62.26 at the close. Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII) added 1.98% or 0.12 points to end at 5.99 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) was up 1.85% or 0.10 points to 5.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI), which lost 4.38% or 1.12 points to trade at 24.43 in late trade. Pirelli & C SPA (BIT:PIRC) declined 3.14% or 0.16 points to end at 4.97 and Hera (BIT:HRA) shed 1.70% or 0.06 points to 3.35.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 287 to 256 and 40 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.32% or 0.22 to $68.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.36% or 0.26 to hit $72.15 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.63% or 16.45 to trade at $2,589.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.52% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 106.35.
