Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.12% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (BIT:TLIT), which rose 5.69% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.27 at the close. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) added 2.01% or 0.13 points to end at 6.80 and Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (BIT:UNPI) was up 1.94% or 0.23 points to 12.09 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM), which lost 4.63% or 0.62 points to trade at 12.73 in late trade. Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG) declined 4.40% or 0.44 points to end at 9.52 and Ferrari NV (BIT:RACE) shed 2.60% or 11.20 points to 420.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 323 to 203 and 46 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.59% or 1.13 to $70.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.97% or 0.72 to hit $73.77 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 4.84 to trade at $2,670.96 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.47% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 106.56.
