Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT), which rose 1.81% or 0.0102 points to trade at 0.5748 at the close. Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) added 1.78% or 0.064 points to end at 3.663 and Recordati (MI:RECI) was up 1.76% or 0.49 points to 28.41 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which lost 2.47% or 0.73 points to trade at 28.78 in late trade. Tenaris (MI:TENR) declined 1.89% or 0.20 points to end at 10.62 and Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI) shed 1.57% or 0.033 points to 2.068.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 178 to 173 and 20 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.31% or 0.16 to $51.29 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.42% or 0.25 to hit $59.66 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.27% or 3.30 to trade at $1227.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.1321, while EUR/GBP fell 0.45% to 0.8870.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 97.107.
