Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Eni SpA (BIT:ENI), which rose 3.34% or 0.47 points to trade at 14.49 at the close. Brunello Cucinelli (BIT:BCU) added 3.14% or 2.65 points to end at 87.05 and Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF) was up 3.05% or 0.65 points to 21.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI), which lost 4.17% or 0.10 points to trade at 2.23 in late trade. STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) declined 3.87% or 1.24 points to end at 30.70 and Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM) shed 3.05% or 0.51 points to 16.17.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 288 to 199 and 47 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.46% or 1.14 to $77.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.55% or 1.28 to hit $81.09 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.32% or 31.05 to trade at $2,384.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 104.06.
