Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which rose 2.11% or 0.225 points to trade at 10.900 at the close. BBVA (MC:BBVA) added 1.98% or 0.107 points to end at 5.520 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) was up 1.98% or 0.046 points to 2.370 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which lost 1.15% or 0.064 points to trade at 5.500 in late trade. Acerinox (MC:ACX) declined 1.10% or 0.125 points to end at 11.220 and Endesa (MC:ELE) shed 0.30% or 0.055 points to 18.370.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 134 to 60 and 19 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.54% or 7.15 to $1319.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.02% or 0.48 to hit $46.50 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.31% or 0.65 to trade at $48.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.1147, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8519.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.50% at 96.01.
