Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Sunday, as gains in the Biomed, Communication and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 added 1.85% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TA:TEVA), which rose 6.84% or 422 points to trade at 6595 at the close. Cellcom Israel Ltd (TA:CEL) added 4.34% or 155 points to end at 3730 and Partner (TA:PTNR) was up 3.09% or 66 points to 2205 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bazan Oil Refineries Ltd (TA:ORL), which lost 0.94% or 1.6 points to trade at 169.0 in late trade. Ormat Technologies (TA:ORA) declined 0.09% or 20 points to end at 22480 and Melisron (TA:MLSR) gained 0.12% or 20 points to 16500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 255 to 138 and 30 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.09% or 0.05 to $58.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $64.73 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.67% or 8.50 to trade at $1279.10 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.02% to 3.4861, while EUR/ILS fell 0.16% to 4.1326.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 92.88.
