Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Biomed, Communication and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 gained 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK), which rose 8.13% or 116 points to trade at 1542 at the close. Delek Group (TA:DLEKG) added 4.19% or 2200 points to end at 54700 and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TA:TEVA) was up 3.60% or 250 points to 7200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gazit Globe Ltd (TA:GZT), which lost 1.24% or 43 points to trade at 3420 in late trade. Melisron (TA:MLSR) declined 1.02% or 150 points to end at 14500 and Azrieli Group Ltd (TA:AZRG) shed 0.74% or 130 points to 17470.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 315 to 77 and 20 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 2.15% or 1.36 to $62.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.20% or 0.80 to hit $66.06 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 5.00 to trade at $1324.50 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.25% to 3.4907, while EUR/ILS fell 0.39% to 4.2927.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 89.97.
