Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Insurance, Financials and Communication sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 rose 0.66% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were Perrigo (TA:PRGO), which rose 2.30% or 710 points to trade at 31560 at the close. Sodastream International Ltd (TA:SODA) added 2.19% or 540.0 points to end at 25200.0 and Ormat Technologies (TA:ORA) was up 1.89% or 420 points to 22610 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Melisron (TA:MLSR), which lost 1.77% or 290 points to trade at 16120 in late trade. Big Shopping Centers Ltd (TA:BIG) declined 0.97% or 240 points to end at 24470 and Gazit Globe Ltd (TA:GZT) shed 0.50% or 19 points to 3781.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 227 to 180 and 26 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.24% or 0.15 to $61.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $67.76 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.30 to trade at $1320.80 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was down 0.11% to 3.4476, while EUR/ILS rose 0.38% to 4.1627.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 91.61.
