Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Services, Consumer Staples and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.21%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.22%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 4.58% or 0.130 points to trade at 2.970 at the close. Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) added 3.42% or 0.050 points to end at 1.510 and Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) was up 3.41% or 0.029 points to 0.879 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC), which lost 0.91% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.547 in late trade. Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) declined 0.83% or 0.020 points to end at 2.380 and Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB) shed 0.55% or 0.030 points to 5.430.

The top performers on the ADX General were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which rose 5.56% to 1.52, Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was up 2.44% to settle at 0.8400 and Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which gained 1.94% to close at 5.25.

The worst performers were Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was down 3.61% to 0.800 in late trade, Ad Islamic Bk (AD:ADIB) which lost 2.08% to settle at 3.760 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 1.75% to 0.560 at the close.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 fell and 10 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.02% or 0.01 to $44.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $46.84 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.13% or 1.75 to trade at $1309.65 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.06% to 4.0951.

The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 96.01.
