Investing.com – India equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Real Estate, Technology and Auto sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 fell 0.07%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index fell 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bank Of Baroda (NS:BOB), which rose 4.63% or 7.15 points to trade at 161.65 at the close. State Bank Of India (NS:SBI) added 4.07% or 10.10 points to end at 258.50 and Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS:HALC) was up 2.98% or 4.60 points to 158.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:EICH), which lost 1.79% or 397.50 points to trade at 21777.30 in late trade. Bharti Infratel Limited (NS:BHRI) declined 1.58% or 5.500 points to end at 342.350 and Coal India Limited (NS:COAL) shed 1.45% or 4.90 points to 334.15.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which rose 4.15% to 258.50, Vedanta Ltd (BO:VDAN) which was up 3.68% to settle at 179.05 and Hindalco Industries Ltd. (BO:HALC) which gained 2.72% to close at 158.45.
The worst performers were Coal India Limited (BO:COAL) which was down 1.36% to 334.20 in late trade, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which lost 1.24% to settle at 2603.95 and Wipro Ltd. (BO:WIPR) which was down 0.80% to 520.60 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 827 to 636 and 69 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 896 rose and 724 declined, while 53 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India Vix, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 0.09% to 14.5375.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.45% or 6.15 to $1351.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $48.18 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.22% or 0.11 to trade at $50.78 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.27% to 67.013, while EUR/INR rose 0.05% to 75.9020.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 94.38.
