Investing.com – India equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Capital Goods and Auto sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 1.60% to hit a new all time high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 1.61%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were ICICI Bank Ltd (NS:ICBK), which rose 5.27% or 21.65 points to trade at 431.75 at the close. Larsen & Toubro Ltd (NS:LART) added 4.13% or 60.90 points to end at 1544.15 and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:ZEE) was up 4.16% or 15.00 points to 376.85 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS:TEML), which lost 0.85% or 6.30 points to trade at 735.85 in late trade. NTPC Ltd (NS:NTPC) declined 0.27% or 0.35 points to end at 129.15 and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:TCS) shed 0.20% or 4.05 points to 2048.00.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:ICBK) which rose 5.09% to 431.50, Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:LART) which was up 4.60% to settle at 1543.65 and Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which gained 4.42% to close at 353.35.

The worst performers were NTPC Ltd (BO:NTPC) which was down 0.54% to 129.20 in late trade, HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT) which lost 0.46% to settle at 1061.65 and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which was down 0.20% to 2049.65 at the close.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1304 to 277 and 63 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1784 rose and 644 declined, while 150 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 15.14% to 16.4675 a new 1-month low.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.36% or 4.65 to $1280.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.05% or 0.61 to hit $58.52 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.00% or 0.68 to trade at $68.44 a barrel.

USD/INR was down 0.17% to 69.566, while EUR/INR fell 0.06% to 77.8330.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 97.650.
